As we head into the final week of our Robson Scouted street style series, we want to express a big thank you to all the people who shared their outfits and personalities with us and in turn, allowed us to share it with Vancouver! Tasked with what they do best, Street Scout Me spent the month of June scouting and documenting Robson’s eclectic and vibrant street style scene. What unfolded was an incredible collection of photographs capturing the essence, looks and details of Robson life.
So without further adieu, ?scroll down for this week?s?style inspiration and learn what each person’s go-to piece of clothing is in their wardrobe and why they can’t live without it. As a bonus, we beefed up the staff style section this week to tribute the incredibly stylish and wonderful community we adore on Robson.
“I’m definitely a dress and skirt person. I love dresses because you can throw them on, you’re done, and you’re out the door. They are just really comfortable. I’m not really sentimental about clothes so I don’t have any particular piece I’m attached to.” – Ali, Freelance Writer
“A Club Monaco dress that Alex just bought me last week. It has a cutout under the bust and a tie that wraps all the way around from the back to the front. It’s about knee-length and it’s a creme, silky fabric.” – Taylor, Merchandiser for Gap in Victoria
“These pants are my favourite. I just bought them and had them tailored yesterday too. They’re from a store called Hughes in downtown Victoria. They are John Varvatos. They’re the nicest fitting pants I’ve ever owned.” – Alex, Business Student
“I’m going to have to go with my new Balenciaga sneakers. I just got them yesterday. They’re dope snakeskin, matte black, they’re just amazing.” – Chris, Stylist and Visual Merchandiser at Leone
“I can’t live without my denim shorts. It’s my go-to style for summer because it’s easy and effortless for the warm weather.” – Pam Pam, Student
“I prefer to wear over-sized clothing, like t-shirts and this boho-inspired dress I’m wearing right now.” – Pella, Student
“I can’t live without my white sneakers for summer. They’re super comfortable and look great with everything.” – Laura, Student
“Distressed J Brand denim shorts and a pair of broken-in Levis from a thrift store. That’s what I wear almost everyday because they’re so versatile.” – Sarah, Server at Joey
“The stud earrings I’m wearing today by IZA Jewelry. They’re mixed metal and mismatched, which is something I really like. I don’t like being too matchy…I like being a little contrary.” – Camia, Hair Stylist at Life+Colour
“I love this metal chain by Vitality. It has the symbol of a Japanese knife. I recently bought it from Boy’s Co. and I’ve been wearing it everyday.” – Jamie, Project Manager at TedxVancouver
“I can’t live without my Chronotech watch that I bought in Italy. It’s my go-to accessory. I’m always checking time so I never leave home without it.” – Federica, Hair Salon Manager
Staff Style
“Boyfriend jeans are my favorite piece. They have to have a lot of rips. You can wear them dressed up, dressed down, with sneakers or heels. They are my number one piece.” – Selena, Visual Associate and J. Crew
?”I currently love this vest I’m wearing because it’s very versatile. You can wear it with jeans, shorts, dresses. It ?just adds a little bit more to a basic outfit. It’s a great piece for summer.” – Genevieve, Sales Associate at J. Crew
“I have this J. Crew chino three-piece suit I’m loving right now because it’s lightweight, the colour is great for summer and I break the three-pieces out a lot. So I’ll wear the vest and the pants, the jacket and the pants, just the pants, just the jacket, or all three pieces at once. It’s super versatile. I bought it last year but it’s coming back around. I love wearing it with a chambray shirt for some texture or a sneaker once in awhile.” – Ryan Jinn, Personal Stylist at J. Crew
The J. Crew crew.
“My eyelet pencil skirt and a crop top. I’m a little short so it makes me look taller. That’s kinda my go-to outfit.” – Christine, Manager at Club Monaco
“I have a pair of leather joggers. They can be dressed up or down and they’re super comfortable.” – Kegin, Retail Manager at BCBG Max Azria
“I can’t live without my Carerra sunglasses. I had them stolen and I immediately went and bought them again.” – Joshua, Bartender at Joe Fortes
