In partnership with VIVA Vancouver, the Robson Street Business Association (RSBA) launched Robson Bute Plaza on Canada Day as Vancouver’s newest space for people to gather, lounge and relax this summer.
Located at 800 Bute Street between Robson and the laneway, this tree-lined street has been transformed into a colourful and fun plaza, complete with tables and chairs, umbrellas and a public piano. The space will also accommodate small events and activations throughout the summer.
Robson Bute Plaza is a temporary space and will re-open to vehicle traffic on October 16, 2017. The City and the RSBA are using this three-month pilot to gain insight into how people enjoy the space, what the traffic implications are and what people would like to see in the space if it were to become permanent.
