Vancouver sang its sweet siren song to Jessica Luxe well before she called this city home. As a Squamish native, Jessica grew up just beyond the sea?to sky highway – but small-town living didn?t align with this woman?s big city ambitions. As a teenager, she would board a greyhound and make her?way towards the city, and there was no place she wanted to be more than Vancouver?s runway. ?I?ve always put Robson on a pedestal because it is?such an iconic part of the city? she says.
Five years ago, she arrived in Vancouver permanently to begin her life as a student at Capilano University. She packed up her bags and brought?along her dream of becoming a writer. ?I was 17 and by myself for the first time in my life. I needed some way to express myself – I couldn?t draw,?I couldn?t paint, but I wanted to do something creative.? After coming across some style blogs from LA and New York, Jessica knew ?Oh, I can do?this, too!? The more she discovered online, the more she seemed to notice that no one quite dressed like her. There was certainly room for her in the?style blog scene. It was the dawn of JessicaLuxe.com, Style Influencer.
Now, this driven young trendsetter is managing to be simultaneously immersed in university, working freelance and making waves online as a style blogger. Major snaps for crushing so many dreams at once! But in between reading, writing, photo shoots, quality time with her boyfriend?and hitting the gym (we get tired just thinking about her typical day), you can find her buzzing around #onRobson grabbing her favourite Almond?Milk Matcha Latte at Blenz or perusing the racks of Used House of Vintage where they have one of a kind vintage pieces spanning decades of style.
Jessica has come a long way from small town Squamish, she knew what she wanted ? and she went for it head first. ?If you?re doing something that makes you?happy, it?s worth everything to pursue,? explains Jessica. There?s a lot Jessica wants to accomplish, and we?re loving her for going for it on Robson?Street and beyond.
